Tiffany Cavanaugh and her husband, Gavin Slaughter began Alphabet Art in 2008 in order to provide Kiwi families with quality, affordable childrens products. Gavin builds products that Tiffany designs and together they hand paint each item. Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Skidmore College in New York and Gavin obtained his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University in Christchurch where they met in 2002.
Working from home through Alphabet Art has been an extremely rewarding venture for Gavin and Tiffany. The creative outlet and niche market for children's goods is fun for them as parents. In addition to these products, Tiffany is the volunteer coordinator for Creative Capers, an art and craft class for under fives and a coffee group for their parents and caregivers. Creative Capers is part of Burnside Elim Community Church's Community Morning, held each Thursday during the school term. You can also find a selection of preschool craft activities that have been tried at Creative Capers here.
Alphabet Art is a home business based in Christchurch, New Zealand. You may arrange pickup of your order from our home in Burnside, by appointment on any day. We are closed from December 25th through January 10th each year following the busy Christmas season.
