Tiffany Cavanaugh Garden Lanterns

1. Take the label off a clean aluminum can (you may need to saok in hot water)
2. Push an orange into the opening of the can as hard as you can- this will
prevent the can from collapsing while you punch holes in the side
3. Lay the can on its side and use a hammer and a nail to punch holes all
around the sides of the can. You can punch randomly or draw a design on
the side and punch holesabout 1cm apart along the lines of your design.
4. Punch two more holes right at the top of the can opposite from each other,
this will be where you tread your wire to make a handle
5. Pull the orange out of the can- discard it.
6. Cut about 15cm of aluminum wire and thread through your handle holes.
7. Wrap the wire back over itself to tie the loose ends securely
8. Have the kids paint the can however they like- use house paint if you plan on
using the lantern outside.
9. allow the paint to dry
10. Place a votive candle in the bottom
