1. Fill spray bottles with water and food colouring; 1 cup
water to 4 drops colouring
2. Offer an assortment of colours to paint with
3. Lay out a square of paper towel in front of each child
4. Have them spray the paper towel to make a psychedelic
painting
5. Allow the towels to dry
Additional ideas:
** Save empty and clean pump hairspray bottles to offer a variety of bottle shapes and to show
how trigger srayers work differently to push button sprayers- maybe try water pistols?
** Accordian fold the dry paper towels and make butterflies
** Try the sray painting on various papers or on cloth to see how the paint works differently.
** Hang an old sheet outside on the fence and let them spray it to make a giant painting!
** Use watered down clothing dye instead of food colouring and spray dye sheets or clothing; kids love to show off what they’ve made and wearing it will be super special to them.
